Please feel free to arrive any time on or before the 19th but if you are early we may put you to work. 🙂\nLast years event was a blast and we are looking forward to another great event and again growing it even bigger. We need to say thank you to all of you for treating our home as if it were your own and keeping it clean.\nSame runway info as before. Land to the north on 35\, take off to the south on 17. Make sure to make radio calls and listen out for the air boss. Our ground radios will pick you up out to about 10 miles so please start making calls and usually you can hear us at about 3 miles out. We will work with you for sequencing as needed and watch for ground marshellers to direct you to parking. Our runway is 1900 foot\, grass\, up hill for landing\, down for take off. Please shoot for your touch down point just after the first little roller.\nFor those that need a larger runway please head to MTV which is only 7 miles away and we will send someone over to pick you up either via aircraft or truck but we will get you to the Fly In.\nFor those that are camping we will have a ATV that can pick up your gear and bring it to the camping area if you would like. You are of course welcome to camp under your wing and even drive in campers are welcome.\nThe Menu in 2025 seemed to be a huge success so we will probably keep very close to that for 2026. The shaved ice team will be back again for 2026 and we will be hosting the Kelly Brady Memorial Movie Night.\nWe are also working on shirts for this year.\nCan’t wait to see you all back at the Ranch in 2026 and of course stop in any time before then and say hi!

Anytime someone is aware that I’m associated with the Airport they always have something interesting to boast. For those that haven’t been here before\, we boast breathtaking mountainous views\, friendly locals\, interesting side amenities such as Doe Mountain Recreation Area for some of road trail riding\, Watauga Lake and Runway side Roan Creek for water activities\, welcoming local shops and fantastic restaurants. Search the numerous YouTube videos from previous event to get the feel of what Mountain flying is all about. This General Aviation airport has proven to be perfect for PPG/PPC due to the light traffic\, morning ground fog situations and single traffic pattern. Potable water\, Mens and Woman’s hot showers\, waste water dump on-site\, hangar storage space for equipment and shelter during inclement weather.\nTo ensure everyone gets the needed nightly rest to fly the next day the generator use will be limited to all those camping on the asphalt area be turned off by 11:00 PM. Generators will be allowed to run all night in the “East 40” camping area. The option of staying at any of our accommodations or campgrounds… here’s a helpful link www.johnsoncountytn.gov/places-to-stay.\n100LL aviation fuel is available in the office\, or seek out Airport representative.\nAn FAA NOTAM will be implemented for safety concerns that will alert general aviation aircraft of your presence in the area\, but please note that the Airport will remain open or any and all public landing and taking off traffic.\nEvent participants charge per day is $25.00 per pilot and $10.00 additional charge that come with non-flying adult guest. Spectator participation is free.
