DESCRIPTION:The Annual RV-4 Pilots Oshkosh Warm-Up Party! As always\, reach out with any questions. The goal is simple\, meet up with all the RV-4 (now all Vans RV friendly but the -4 is still the best) friends prior to Oshkosh to do all the fun flying you typically can’t do once at AirVenture.\nCome to KOVS\, Boscobel\, WI on the morning and plan to stay and camp/hotel. We do have a discounted rate at a hotel in town. Activities of the day to include Formation Flight Demonstrations\, some competitive flying games\, lots of RV-4 fun and outstanding food with hosting by none other than our very own RV-4 Owner\, Jason Edwards.\nThe Balloon Busting competition with Spot Landing will be back and fierce as ever. Make several passes and try to get the best score while flying with your friends. Come prepped for all the fun flying we can jam pack into a day and pack your favorite adult beverages to share and enjoy later in the evening. Plans will continue to solidify and we will provide all the details as we get closer to the date. Throwing this out there to get it on your calendar! Please be honest with the RSVP this year. This helps with food and logistics. We will also be charging a fee this year to help cover expenses (amount TBD it wont be life changing). Thanks! We’re super excited!

The airport at Rough River State Park is the perfect location for a family fun event featuring amenities like mini-golf\, disk golf\, lodge with diner\, pontoon/kayak rentals\, and beach swimming area all within walking distance of the airstrip. Falls of Rough Resort is only 3.5 miles away that hosts an 18 hole golf course (discounts available to us)\, swimming pool\, and historic mansion. Nightly rentals available as low as $30 p/p for day rooms (bed/dresser room with communal bathroom/shower). Restrooms and climate controlled planning office are located adjacent to the runway and parking lot.\nAdmission = $40 per pilot\nCampers/Busses/Tent Camp =$ FREE $ – Limited Spots Available\nEthanol free “Rec Gas” is available across the street!\nFood is available at the State Park Diner (walking distance) or Falls of Rough Resort (3.5 miles).\nLodging is available at the State Park\, motels across the street\, or at Falls of Rough Resort (contact Brennan for special rates).\nFly to the north to discover picturesque farmland and open crop fields.\nHead east and fly Rough River Lake – the lake will turn into a river that is deep between hillsides for thrill seeking aviators.\nSouth leads pilots through wide valleys between 400 foot high hills.\nWest will take seasoned pilots through dense forests with pockets of open homesteads. Following Rough River this way offers some of the best low-level precision flying experiences as you meander through river bottom fields seeing more deer than you can count.\nCamping and camper spots are FCFS upon arrival. DESCRIPTION:Annual Abel Island Fly-in\, Float-in\, Potluck BBQ! This year we want to make\, what has become one of the Midwest’s most popular fly-in events\, even better. First\, it will be the 25th year\, but this year it will also be your host’s\, Gary and Marcia Fisher\, 50th wedding anniversary. To help us celebrate we are going to make sure that EVERY pilot that flies in will receive one of our very special door prizes. As those that have been here before know\, we give away the good stuff! In the past we have had such prizes as YETI Abel Island personalized mugs\, embroidered Abel Island polo shirts\, Abel Island insulated back packs\, etc. This year we have some really special prizes\, again\, for every pilot that flies in.\nEven though the event is officially from Noon to 3:00\, we encourage pilots to fly in the evening before and/ or stay the evening after to camp under your wing or on our sandy beach with fire pit\, outdoor hot water shower\, and portable restroom. Remember that this is a noon-time potluck BBQ. It is not your usual morning pancake breakfast. We have some excellent chefs as part of our Island Airpark family that come with items such as slow-roasted pork loin\, wood-fired chicken legs\, and many other delicious items to share. Let’s see what you bring to throw on our ready-to-cook grills. Two housekeeping notes: We would love to have more pilots join our airpark family by purchasing a home on the Island. To that end\, there are two homes presently for sale. There will be an open house 1-5 for one of them. Please feel free to check it out. Second\, we do ask that any aerobatic or smoke displays be done over that river rather than the airfield itself.\nPlease pass the word to your pilots friends and we look forward to seeing you.
