Hillsboro Airport Runway Reopening Fly-In (KINJ)

UPDATE:  5/28/2025  no fly-in planes allowed.

To everyone who was planning to fly-in to the Hillsboro Airport Runway Reopening Fly-In the airport management and event planning board has made a decision that due to the recent heavy rainfall and the conditions in the ground that we will not be able to host non-event related aircraft for the fly-in. Please know that the rest of the event IS STILL HAPPENING AS SCHEDULED and this notice DOES NOT effect ultralights as we have a designated hard parking area for you. We hope than anyone who was planning to fly in will still hop in the car and drive in as it is still going to be a good time had for all!!! Come one come all! Hillsboro Municipal is hosting a Fly-in event to celebrate the reconstructing of the runways and reopening of the airport.
Events and attraction will include:
-A Pancake Breakfast hosted by EAA Ch. 280
-Food Trucks from Tony’s Backyard BBQ, Kings of Comida Tacos, and Sweetly Rolled Rolled Ice
-Young Eagles providing free airplane rides for kids provided by EAA Ch. 34 (Must pre-register, information will be posted soon)
-Commemorative Air Force Bluebonnet Wing will be selling warbird rides in a Navion and T-6
-A Touch-a-Truck provided by Hillsboro Emergency Services and others
-A Classic Car Show provided by the County Line Cruisers.
-A diverse collection of static display airplanes
-Live music featuring local artists
-We will have Bounce houses for kids as well as other kid friendly activities provided by the Hillsboro Library.
-Sheriff Hunter Barnes of the Hill County Sheriff Office will be attending.
As we get more details the event will be updated.
This is open to anyone who wants to fly in as well as the general public. There will be no entry, landing or parking fees (if you are flying in follow best practices according to FAR/AIM). Please respond and let us know if you are planning to attend so we can get a ballpark of how many guests to expect and we can be prepared. More information to come.
